"Scene Imagined Seen and Impossible Content"
The main part of my talk is in aesthetics, in particular, philosophy of cinema. I argue for the metaphysical impossibility
of the imagined content of the visual scene we are invited to imagine while watching a movie. I discuss George
Wilson and Gregory Currie, who oppose the position I defend. Preceding this main part of the talk is a substantial
preface, in which I introduce the topic of metaphysically impossible contents by critiquing Saul Kripke’s discussion of
the necessary a posteriori.
