Annual
Prizes in Women's Studies
A number of prizes are administered through our
Department each year. Annual calls are distributed in Spring
quarter.
UNDERGRADUATE PRIZES
- Dean’s Undergraduate Award in Women’s
Studies:
for a meritorious student in Women’s Studies
- Renée Riese Hubert Undergraduate
Prize: to recognize
the year’s most outstanding work in Women’s Studies
by an undergraduate student at UC Irvine, from any major. The
prize is named in honor of the late Renée Riese Hubert,
Professor Emerita of Comparative Literature and French, whose
interdisciplinary work made an outstanding contribution to
Women’s Studies. We welcome a diverse range of projects
ranging from a research paper, an analytical essay, an artistic
work, a media production, or an activist project.
GRADUATE PRIZES
- Feminist Studies Graduate Fellowship: for a deserving student
enrolled in the Graduate Feminist Emphasis with demonstrated
financial need. Recipient will have the opportunity to
present this work in the Fall quarter as part of the Graduate
Feminist Emphasis Brown Bag Lectures.
- Women’s Studies/Humanities
Graduate Teaching Award: for an outstanding Teaching
Assistant / Associate
- Renée Riese Hubert Graduate
