The UCI
Humanities Collective is the UCI research node of the
Multi-Campus Research Group, the UC Humanities Network administered
by the University of California
Humanities Research Institute. The Collective
is a collaborative enterprise and umbrella organization made
up of the UCI
Humanities Center, Big
Ideas and HumaniTech®.
Catherine Liu is the Director of the UCI
Humanities Center. The Center supports cutting edge, interdisciplinary
research in the Humanities at UCI through public programming,
and faculty and graduate student fellowships. The Center promotes
inter-campus collaboration across the UC system. The Center
promotes creative, pragmatic and theoretical research on global
and local questions of critique and community, innovation
and tradition, and theory and history. Big
Ideas is a social media and digital resource featuring
recent publications by SOH faculty and lecturers. Designed
and maintained by Maritess Santiago, Big
Ideas offers a thrilling overview of the creative and
intellectual breadth and depth of the School of Humanities
Faculty. HumaniTech®
is a pioneering initiative, created by Barbara Cohen, an innovator
in the Digital Humanities and Open Access movement. It is
an on-line resource for the intersection of the Humanities
and New Technologies. The UCI
Humanities Collective works to enhance public understanding
of the Humanities, while encouraging vigorous debate and dialogue
across campuses, disciplines and media technologies.
