 M.A., New York University
Email: jbfine@uci.edu
Originally from Kentucky, I spent the last five years in New York, where I received my BA in Comparative Literature with an honors thesis on German-Turkish writers and an MA, also in Comparative Literature, with a Master's Thesis on mimesis and potentiality in Giorgio Agamben's /Homo Sacer/. I am interested in the development of the German philosophical tradition from the Enlightenment to the present, German poetry, and the relationship between aesthetics and politics. In my free time, which I seem to have with ever-decreasing frequency, I enjoy bicycling, cooking, learning my way around Irvine and Orange County, and very much missing cold weather.
