Traslation Grants offer support to translators for translations of literature (fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and drama) or theory into English. “Theory” refers here to literary theory, translation theory, political theory, or philosophy. The ICWT is particularly interested in translations from cultures and languages that have been marginalized and overlooked by the Anglo-American canon. In addition, translations of rare and unique works from any language would also be very welcome.
These grants are intended to support the progress and completion of a major translation-project in preparation for publication.
