| Biography Celeste Fremon is an award winning free-lance journalist specializing in gangs, law enforcement and
other criminal justice issues. Her work appears in such publications as the LA Weekly, the Los Angeles
Times Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, Good Housekeeping, the Utne Reader and Salon.com.
Fremon is the author of G-Dog and the Homeboys (Hyperion 1995, University of New Mexico Press,
2004), which profiles the gang members of the Pico Aliso housing projects of East Los Angeles and the
work of Father Greg Boyle. She is a Criminal Justice and a Border Fellow at the USC Annenberg
Institute for Justice and Journalism. Fremon is currently working on An American Family, a new book
following the life of a parolee and his family during his first two years out of prison. |
