I was born in Blue Island, Illinois, next to a cookie factory where my mom and dad used to buy trash bags stuffed with fresh cookies for just a dollar--chocolate chip, sugar cookies, oatmeal raisin. Or so that’s the way my dad recalls it. Needless to say I moved to Southern California when I was seven years old, nomadically roaming Los Angeles County and the San Fernando Valley with my mom. I graduated high school in 2002 and came to Irvine to get my Bachelor’s degree in Literary Journalism. I do not know what I will do when I graduate from UCI, but I would like to continue writing creatively. Right now all I can think about is finding a new apartment and buying a new car. And just for the record--things have been looking up these past few years. |
