CALL FOR PANELS

 

THE THIRD BIENNIAL MEETING FOR THE

SOCIETY OF EARLY AMERICANISTS

 

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND

10-13 APRIL 2003

 

 

The Program Committee for the Society of Early Americanists is now issuing its first call for panels, roundtable discussions, and scholarly and/or pedagogical symposia.

 

There is no particular theme for the Conference, but sessions addressing the following subjects/areas are strongly encouraged: comparative cultures in the colonial Americas, including Dutch, Francophone, and Ibero-American literatures and histories; transatlantic studies; diasporic studies; imperial and colonial identities; print and manuscript cultures, and the history of the book; aesthetics and politics; and interdisciplinary approaches to literary histories.

 

Session proposals may include panel participants or be left open for later consideration by session organizers themselves. All session organizers will be responsible for selecting individual papers and/or participants.
