DEADLINE FOR PANEL PROPOSALS IS 15 JUNE 2004

As before, you may submit a panel topic and fill it from a later Call for Papers or you may submit an already constituted panel. Either way, panel proposals will be evaluated by the Program Committee.  Please submit either electronically or in hard copy to

All topics in the area of early American studies, broadly conceived, are welcome.

We hope to keep to the following schedule:

15 JUNE: Deadline for PANEL proposals.

15 JULY: Deadline for Program Committee to  make decisions about approved panels and for the Conference Director to send out a Call for Papers for approved, non-constituted, panels.

15 SEPTEMBER: Deadline for proposals for PAPERS to be sent to the designated chairs of particular panels.

15 OCTOBER: Deadline for panel chairs to send final composition of panels to the Conference Director.

Highlights of the conference include keynote addresses from Jill Lepore (Harvard) and Joseph Roach (Yale), a job clinic, a panel on teaching early American studies in high school, a meet the editors panel, and plenty of opportunities for socializing. This, of course, is in addition to the wonderful panels and papers that you submit.
